Roman format bricks (2113, 2114, 2210, 2710, 2714) have no DoP published on Matzen's website yet. We request the documents for your project with the quote.

Environmental Product Declarations to EN 15804+A2, issued 19 August 2025 and valid to 19 August 2030. Declarations of Performance are published by Matzen on each brick's product page.

Values are GWP-total from the EPDs listed above. Sea freight to Australia is outside A1 to A3 and should be added for a whole of life assessment. Compact Brick, at 87 mm deep, has up to 19% lower GWP than the equivalent standard brick (Matzen).

Do Matzen Tegl bricks comply with Australian standards?
Matzen declares the performance of its bricks to the European standard EN 771-1 in a Declaration of Performance for each brick. Whether a brick suits a given Australian project, including under AS 3700 and the National Construction Code, is for the project engineer or building surveyor to assess. We supply the DoP, EPD and any further test data they need.
Do the bricks have an EPD?
Yes. Matzen's bricks are covered by third party EPDs to EN 15804+A2, registered with EPD Norway and valid to 19 August 2030. The EPD for each brick is listed on its page.
How does Matzen use biogas?
Matzen holds certificates for biogas allocation covering all its bricks, at the same price as its standard bricks.
Can Matzen make special shapes?
Yes. Matzen makes special shapes to project drawings, including rounded, bullnose, chamfered and cove profiles, in its standard brick format.
